Positions are available for two or more graduate students to work in the UNB MRI Centre. A wide variety of studies are in progress from polymeric soft materials to petroleum rock ones. MRI studies of porous media is a unifying theme. Positions are also available for students to work in areas related to fundamental developments in MRI hardware, software and pulse sequences.

Graduate student applicants with physics, chemistry or engineering backgrounds are all welcome and are encouraged to apply. Dr. Balcom is a member of both the Chemistry and Physics departments at UNB and is thus able to supervise graduate students in both departments. Alternatively graduate students may register in engineering departments with engineering faculty co-supervision. This is easy to arrange on a case by case basis.

Applications from potential post doctoral fellows are welcome at any time.

The UNB MRI Centre's current emphasis is on rapid quantitative imaging of very short lifetime spin systems. In this area we lead the world and our intention is to maintain and extend this lead.
